CO-Gov: Hickenlooper Goes On-Air

With Denver's Democratic Mayor John Hickenlooper consistently leading in the polls to be Colorado's next Governor (both Public Policy Polling and Rasmussen Reports give him a 12-point general election lead), the candidate is free to run a pretty creative and, from this vantage, effective ad:

This race is a real mess for the Republicans: the party is stuck with a nominee they can't stand, and former GOP Congressman Tom Tancredo stands as a third party agitator in the race drawing significant support from the party's nominee (see: polling linked above). At the same time, the popular Democratic nominee is free to run just the campaign he wants. Considering this was a campaign that not all that long ago looked like a pretty good GOP take over possibility, the change in circumstances could not have been more stark.

You're thoughts on the ad?

  3. It probably would have been even more effective if he were shirtless. Alas. Maes is an idiot, and Tancredo has no tact. It's hard to envision Hickenlooper losing this one. He can make all the "artistic" ads he wants.

  4. I think the ad is fantastic. Creative ads are a great way to keep the base motivated and convert high polling numbers into actual votes. The "we need the water" crack at the end is icing on a very clever cake. Love it!
