Donald Byrd's "A New Perspective"

I'm always a sucker for an album featuring tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley. Throw in trumpeter Donald Byrd as band leader, Duke Pearson's innovative arrangements, and a swinging rhythm section (Herbie Hancock, Kenny Burrell, Butch Warren and Lex Humphries) and you have me sold -- particularly at just $5 for the album:

A New Perspective (The Rudy Van Gelder Edition)

Amazon actually has quite a few $5 .mp3 album deals at present, and I used the opportunity to snatch up a number of the Blue Note sets I have been meaning to get for some time: Jimmy Smith's Back At The Chicken Shack (Rudy Van Gelder Edition), Wayne Shorter's JuJu, and Grant Green's Idle Moments. They also have albums from any number of other genres, if you're looking to get some .mp3s on the cheap. Check it out today.
