Two weeks ago, on August 17, the Gallup daily tracking poll showed Barack Obama's approval rating at just 41 percent, with 52 percent disapproving -- a net negative 11 percentage point rating. In the latest release today, the President's approval rating has moved up to 45 percent, with 47 percent disapproving -- a net negative 2 percentage point rating. So either President Obama's approval rating has jumped a net 9 percentage points in the past two weeks, or Gallup is releasing so much data that the importance of any particular data point is being wildly overstated.
