Latest Absurd Hit on Obama: Vacation Time

CNN writes under the headline "Criticism likely to follow Obama on upcoming vacation":
President Obama and his family head to Martha's Vineyard on Friday for a weeklong vacation, but don't expect it to be without controversy.

It will be the president's second time on the island off the coast of Massachusetts. In 2009, Obama spent time golfing and hanging out with family and friends.

Vacations are often considered political low-hanging fruit: Zing a president or first lady anytime they go away for some rest and relaxation.

Critics have asked: Why did the Obamas go to Maine instead of the Gulf Coast as Obama had encouraged Americans to help bolster tourism there? Once in the Gulf, why only for 27 hours? Who footed the bill for Michelle Obama's glitzy trip to Spain?

As for Martha's Vineyard, isn't that an elite playground?
If Martha's Vineyard is an "elite playground," I wonder what the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine is. After all, not only did George H.W. Bush frequently travel to this impressive estate frequently (indeed spending more than 10 percent of his first year in office in this vacation spot), so did his son George W. Bush -- that is, when he wasn't vacationing in his own estate in Crawford, Texas (earning him the title of "vacation president").

Overall, Barack Obama has spent only about half as much time on vacation as his immediate predecessor (well, 46 percent less, to be more precise). Yet the hits keep coming.

  1. Funny how CNN (the liburel media) didn't write these stories when Bush was president.

You didn't hear a peep outta them.
