Amid the sea of negative news for the White House -- Nate Silver called it "perhaps the worst week for Democrats since Scott Brown's victory" -- it's worth pointing out a bit of good news: the President did keep his promise on Iraq.
Today Barack Obama received a "Promise Kept" from PolitiFact.com, the highest possible rating for a campaign pledge. Although, as PolitiFact notes, there remain some 50,000 American forces in Iraq, all combat troops have now been removed from the country -- no small feat, especially considering that it was not all that long ago that America was sending more troops to the country.
Nothing has changed. 50K armed soldiers still occupy Iraq with the same duties they had before they removed the word "combat" from their title. If you consider that a success, you're a tool.
