When a candidate doesn't have unlimited resources to buy up all the air time, the best alternative is to run ads that people will actually watch. Russ Feingold's, as always, are pretty entertaining:
Feingold has a long history of running the types of ads that catch voters eyes. Here's a favorite from his long-shot 1992 Senate bid:
And this one from Feingold's 2004 reelection bid is pretty funny:
This is going to be a tough campaign for Feingold, running against a Republican with deep pockets. But if he can continue to genuinely connect with voters -- something he has been remarkably adept at over the years (go figure, an elected official who actually speaks from the heart and votes his conscience would connect with voters) -- he may be able to pull off a tough victory.
