The DCCC outraised the NRCC in August, boosting the Democrats' efforts at retaining the House this fall.At present, the House Democrats have more than $13 million more in the bank than the House Democrats heading into the final stretch of the election, a 52 percent advantage for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee ($39 million to $25.6 million). Senate Republicans have slightly more cash-on-hand than Senate Republicans -- $24.5 million to $22.9 million -- but this is largely a consequence of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee beginning to spend serious money on the air (the DSCC, as noted above, outraising its GOP counterpart last month). In all, not a terrible position for the Democrats, and certainly not the bleak picture painted by some.
The DCCC is reporting having raised $8.32M in August, according to numbers provided to Hotline On Call. The NRCC will report $6.64M.

The DCCC's report follows the DSCC also reporting a strong month on Monday, hauling in $7.42M to the NRSC's $6.05M.
[UPDATE at 6:30 PM]: According to CNN, the Democratic National Committee also made a strong showing in August, pulling in $11.5 million for the month. The DNC has $13.4 million in the bank, with $8.4 million in debts. No word yet from the Republican National Committee.
