New Poll Puts O'Donnell Up in DE-Sen

It's within the poll's margin of error, but still this is pretty remarkable:
It looks like there’s a real possibility of a major upset in the Delaware Senate primary on Tuesday night, with insurgent conservative Christine O’Donnell leading longtime Congressman and Governor Mike Castle 47-44. That 3 point lead is well within the poll’s margin of error.

[...]

This race is too close to call and could certainly go either way Tuesday night. General election Senate numbers we'll release later this week make it clear the biggest beneficiary of this primary becoming so unexpectedly hotly contested is Chris Coons. He would start out with a large advantage over O'Donnell in a general election match up, and is polling closer to Castle than he was when PPP polled Delaware last month.
Depending on the exact general election numbers, the Public Policy Polling survey would actually be the second recent survey to show that the Republicans would be doing themselves no favors by nominating Christine O'Donnell rather than Mike Castle. Indeed, it's quite clear that conservative Republicans are doing all they can to turn a race once considered likely to flip to the GOP (in other words a race not even currently competitive) into one where the Democrats have a clear advantage. The election is this Tuesday, so we will know soon enough if the Republicans' self-sabotage instinct is set to get the best of them.
