With less than six weeks until Election Day, Democrat Andrew Cuomo (57 percent) continues to maintain a huge lead over Republican Carl Paladino (24 percent) and Conservative Party candidate Rick Lazio (eight percent). Voters rank Cuomo as the more effective candidate than either of the other two on seven key issues. While they are split on whether Paladino’s business experience and temperament are what New York needs in its next governor, they do believe Cuomo has the right experience and know-how for the office, according to a Siena College poll of registered New York voters released today. In the words of The Hotline's Reid Wilson, most likely the "[t]ruth is in between" the Q, SUSA and Siena polls, with Cuomo holding a solid lead -- but probably not one north of 30 percentage points. That said, it's again worth noting that while the establishment media enjoys latching on to any survey showing the Democrats in demise, the response to other polling that shows the Democrats in a relatively stronger position is all too often overlooked.

Or Maybe Cuomo Isn't in Trouble
Everyone got very upset yesterday when Quinnipiac and SurveyUSA showed Andrew Cuomo leading by a scant 6 points and 9 points, respectively, in the New York Governor's race. I wonder what the reaction will be to Siena polling (.pdf):
