Reid and Angle remain locked in a dead heat, according to the latest survey by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research. It shows the Democratic incumbent with support from 46 percent of those surveyed compared with 44 percent for his GOP challenger. That's nearly unchanged from two weeks ago, when they were at 45-44, and falls within the margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. The LVRJ holds these numbers for the third paragraph, and waits until the 11th graf to note that Angle's negatives continue to rise, up to 46 percent in latest polling (up from 43 percent two weeks ago). The trend is quite noticeable: Reid is rising while Angle is failing to attract new supporters.
Some may labor to portray these numbers as a positive for the GOP. That's certainly the take of the LVRJ. Yet considering Reid continues to best Angle in this high profile race -- one that Reid was not all that long ago expected to lose -- it's hard to see how this is good news for Republicans.
