A quick thought before I head out the door: What would be so wrong with toning down the rhetoric? I am not talking about everyone somehow coming together and agreeing on issues, because that's not going to happen. I'm not even talking about stopping the attacks lobbed from one side to the other, and then back again.
But what would be so wrong saying that talk of things like "Second Amendment remedies" and events like a fundraiser where supporters are "invited to 'shoot a fully automatic M-16' with him to symbolize [a candidate's] assault on [his opponent's] campaign" have no place in our politics today? That calling the President -- of either party -- a Fascist dictator is not acceptable? I am, of course, not speaking on a constitutional level. But just because we have the right to use this language, what would be the danger in saying it's wrong to use it?
Totally agree! Thank you for your voice of reason.
